Welcome to the Coppell Crime Stoppers Web site. Our Crime Stoppers Program is designed to create and maintain a safe community for the citizens of Coppell. The purpose of our program is to prevent and reduce crime by forming a partnership among the community, law enforcement and the media to offer anonymity and cash rewards to anyone providing information leading to an arrest, thereby making the community a safer place for all who live or work in Coppell.
Our program designates a tips hotline number 972-436-TIPS (8477) that citizens may call to report any illegal activity in the community such as alcohol or drugs, weapons, violence, vandalism, theft, arson, etc.
Our program is designed to allow tipsters to remain completely anonymous by issuing them an ID number, which is what they use to claim their cash reward. The tipster does not provide his/her name or any personal information. If the tip leads to an arrest, recovery of a weapon or stolen property or seizure of illegal drugs, the tipster becomes eligible for a cash reward up to $1,000.
- Our program encourages citizens to take responsibility for their own safety and that of their local community. The public is often the first line of defense and, if given an avenue to report illegal activities anonymously, they can save lives. Crime Stoppers encourages members of the community to assist local law enforcement agencies in the fight against crime by overcoming the two key elements that inhibit community involvement: fear and apathy. The program also serves as a deterrent to potential offenders by letting criminals know there are repercussions for their actions.
The Coppell Crime Stoppers Program relies on volunteer Directors and tax deductible contributions from local businesses and concerned citizens to fund the reward payments and the marketing and promotion of the program. NO TAX DOLLARS are involved.
Coppell Crime Stoppers is certified as a Texas Crime Stoppers Program by the Texas Crime Stoppers Advisory Council, which operates out of the Office of the Governor in Austin.
